Past Non-Ski Trips

October 28-30, 2016 - Only 12 Spots per Weekend - $177

Have you ever had rhinos, ostriches and giraffes as neighbors? This is the ultimate, DIY (do it yourself)/BYOE (bring your own everything) wild weekend. Check in Friday afternoon and check out Sunday morning. Subs will be provided for Friday evening and chow for the remainder of the weekend is left to your imagination (BYO).

PRE-PARTY FOR WEEKEND AT “THE WILDS” – We will gather in the bar at the Montgomery Inn on Wednesday, September 21, 2016, at 6 p.m. to meet each other, share the itinerary and details, and set up car pools.

Twelve lucky Ski Clubbers will spend Halloween weekend at The Wilds.  Check into the 6 BR/6BA lodge Friday afternoon and check out Sunday morning.  Subs will be provided for Friday evening and chow for the remainder of the weekend is left to your imagination (BYO).  (The Lodge is lakefront and the optimistic may plan to fish for their dinner.) There is a café on site with limited hours.  Adult beverages are permitted.  An open-air safari tour of the grounds is scheduled for Saturday morning.  The animals should be particularly active this time of year.

The Wilds is not a zoo, but it is one of the largest conservation centers in North America located on nearly 10,000 acres in Cumberland, Ohio, (near Zanesville). It is home to rare and endangered species from around the world and home to hundreds of indigenous species.

The Lodge is a luxury cabin tucked away against one of the most scenic lakes at The Wilds.  The Lodge has accommodations for twelve (six bedrooms with two twin beds each and a bathroom in each bedroom), comfortable living and dining areas, and a fully-equipped kitchen.  Bed linens, towels and soaps are provided.  The cabin is equipped with wireless internet, satellite television and a grill with charcoal.  Bring your fishing gear or use what is available to fish in the lake steps away from your front door.  A motorized boat is at your disposal, as well.  Optional zip lining and horseback riding are offered, but advance reservations are required (your responsibility).
